BalletMet in Schools

BalletMet’s focus on dance in schools goes as far back as BalletMet itself. In 1976, the 6-person Ballet Metropolitan Ensemble performed in schools all around Columbus as part of the Greater Columbus Art’s Council’s Artists-In-Schools program. In 1977, our dancers performed in more than 60 local schools. We started BalletMet with the belief in a deep connection between dance and education, and it is a belief we still hold true.

Today, BalletMet has the following Dance In School initiatives: the Wiggle Jig Pre-K program, Moving Into Literacy for 2nd graders and BalletMet 2 Interactive Dance Performances – The Movement Makers.

If you have a child or a classroom of students filled with energy and a desire to start learning about the world, we encourage you to take a look at our Dance In Schools page to find the program that is best for you.
