WINTER CLASSES BEGIN JAN. 4

BALLET Enjoy the study of ballet in a program developed to take the young dancer from his or her earliest steps to an advanced level of study. We stress a healthful approach to all the work, which is a basis for our training process. Our guided progression of classes
helps to build and enhance the dancer’s body and training. The student’s progress is carefully monitored so that they have the appropriate classes, regardless of age or level.

BOYS’ AND MEN’S CLASS Ballet Level 4 and above. A class for the special skills and movements necessary for the developing male dancer.

CHARACTER The theatrical representation of traditional folk dance and an integral part of classical ballet repertory. Clarity of the movement and gesture, and a strong rhythmic quality are benefits gained from this dance form. Two levels are available—one for Ballet 3, 4 and 5, and one for Intermediate through Advanced study.

CREATIVE DANCE A program of study for young students designed to balance the formal discipline of classical ballet training and develop creativity, freedom of movement, and artistic expression. Suggested for Ballet levels 2, 3, and 4.

PERFORMANCE ENSEMBLE CLASS Study choreography and refine your ensemble work and theatre experience. Students have their own full evening performance and participate in outreach activities. Junior Ensemble: Ballet 3, 4 and 5a and Senior Ensemble: Intermediate through Advanced. Spaces are limited.

MODERN Discover movement that is more “grounded” in nature. Experience the release of weight into and out of the floor while shifting off vertical positions. Mobility of the back, employing a three-dimensional usage of the spine, are key elements in this dance form. Classes begin at age 14 or Intermediate Ballet Level.

JAZZ Blends syncopated, percussive rhythms with musical theatre styles from Robbins to Fosse to Stroman.

MODERN JAZZ Bring together the smooth elements of modern with the powerful technique of jazz.

MODERN COMPOSITION This course allows students to express their creativity through study of the choreographic process, improvisation and innovative movement ideas.

TAP Develop precision in sound, movement, gesture and expression. Includes historical routines as well as current styles.

FLAMENCO Blend exciting rhythms, grace and passion in the Spanish dance of Flamenco. Students will learn basic posture, footwork and rhythm.

BALLROOM Learn the basic techniques required for several styles of ballroom dance. The first week of every month begins a journey into a new dance.

HIP HOP The original form of street dance including three basic movements of Hip Hop: B-boying, popping and locking. Ages 12 and up.

PILATES MAT WORK Focusing on precise movements with few repetitions creating a lean, flexible, powerful body and a focused mind. Ages 13 and up.

YOGA This class introduces students to basic breathing, simple alignment principles and yoga postures and technique. This class is a blending of physical conditioning and selfdiscovery.
No experience necessary. Yoga mat required.

DANCE! MOVE! STRETCH! An exhilarating, fun exercise and stretch class encompassing basic dance movement. Keep healthy and fit with the professionals in a social setting. Class appropriate for all ages. No experience necessary!
