The nationally recognized BallletMet Trainee Program offers talented, advanced students a transitional experience that bridges the gap between the academic ballet setting and the world of professional dance.
BalletMet annually selects students from our Summer Intensive audition tour as well as video auditions to participate in the BalletMet Trainee Program. BalletMet Trainees are required to take a full course of dance study, which includes ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, character dance, pas de deux, rep and variations. BalletMet Trainees also take part in lectures about nutrition, anatomy, marketing and other aspects of ballet company administration.
Attendance at the Summer Intensive Program is recommended for students who are accepted into BalletMet Trainee Program. Trainees have the opportunity to be observed for selection by BalletMet Artistic Staff to perform with BalletMet professional company as well as the second company.
The BalletMet Trainee Program is tuition based. Merit scholarships are awarded to selected trainees and financial aid is available to those who qualify
The trainees spend six days a week in the classroom (and rehearsal) during the school year.
This year, our program begins August 28, 2017.
