Kristina D’Onofrio

Student Division: Modern

Kristina recently graduated with a MFA from the Department of Dance and a Graduate Interdisciplinary Minor in College Teaching from The Ohio State University. At OSU she was also a Graduate Teaching Associate and the recipient of an Ohio State University Fellowship. Kristina is in her second year with BalletMet teaching for the Academy and the Education Department.

Kristina danced professionally with the Tulsa Ballet II, Louisville Ballet, Festival Ballet Providence and was a guest artist with the Dayton Ballet and Kentucky Ballet Theater. She also danced with Colleen Cavanaugh’s contemporary dance company Part of the Oath Dance Theater and was an instructor in her outreach after school program. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Cincinnati with a B.F.A. in dance where she studied on scholarship.

She has enjoyed teaching and choreographing for students of all ages for over ten years in Columbus, Cincinnati and Rhode Island. She has been an instructor at the Festival Ballet Providence Senior and Junior Summer Intensive programs as well as the Joffrey South Summer Intensive programs. Kristina has received a Columbus Dances Fellowship award for choreography and her work has been presented at the Columbus Arts Festival and the Tedx Ohio State University 2016 event.

I love enabling students to discover the multitude of new ways their bodies can move by approaching each class as a choreographic work, specifically designed for them to achieve individual goals. It is such a joy for me to share my love of dance in this way.
