High Energy Dance Cardio

Heart rate up, feet moving—this hour-long class combines all the benefits of a cardio workout with the fun of dance. All skill levels welcome.

BalletMet Barre

Sixty minutes of toning and tightening workouts for the full body, done right at the barre. Build strength and length with ballet-inspired movement. Students must bring a mat, hand weights (1-2 lbs) and a mini-stability ball. Some weeks students will use extra-long thera-bands, which are for sale at the front desk of BalletMet. It’s also suggested students bring a blanket or towel. All skill levels welcome. 

Dance Well Live Well

You’ll gain strength, flexibility and greater body awareness in this class. Choose from two levels: one with floor work, the other with chair work. All skill levels welcome.

Pilates

Focus on core support and alignment to improve strength and stability. All skill levels welcome.

Modern

Explore expressive and unstructured movement in this intermediate class. Some skill required.

Ballet

Build and strengthen the body while taking a healthful, guided approach to technique. Start with Ballet Fundamentals, a five-week session, which will repeat after each session ends, designed to teach you the very basics of ballet. All skill levels welcome.

Jazz

Focus on skills in isolation, syncopation, strength, coordination and rhythm with an emphasis on style. Start with our Jazz Beginner class. All skill levels welcome.

Tap

Study and develop the precision in rhythm, sound, movement and expression. Start with our Tap Beginner class. All skill levels welcome.

Musical Theatre Tap

Tap with a dramatic twist. Learn combinations that’ll take you from the studio to the stage. All skill levels welcome.

Yoga

Learn basic breathing, simple alignment principles, yoga postures and technique. Gain strength, flexibility, balance and inner awareness. No experience necessary, but must bring own yoga mat. All skill levels welcome.

What should I wear?

Comfortable athletic clothing is just fine. Appropriate shoes are recommended for our dance classes—i.e. tap shoes for tap, jazz shoes for jazz, etc.

Should I bring anything else?

Feel free to bring water and a towel. Bring your own mat for yoga, pilates, and barre.

Are all of the classes really drop-in?

While our dance-specific classes (ballet, jazz, modern, tap) do progress throughout the year, it’s perfectly fine to drop in. Our teachers will help you progress at your own pace. All of the fitness-related classes are drop-in-friendly at all times.

Do I need to register beforehand?

No, you can just print the registration form and release of claims (found on the Registration and Fees tab) and bring them with you to your first class.
