Purpose

Endorsed by the Board of Trustees of BalletMet, the Parents’ Association acts as a communication liaison between the Academy’s administration and faculty and the parents.  The Association also functions as a service organization for the Academy.

Membership and Leadership

All BalletMet Academy families are automatically Parent Association members. The Parents’ Association is led by a Steering Committee comprised of no fewer than twelve members who are asked to serve for a three-year term. The committee meets monthly to plan a variety of activities that are either service oriented, educational, or generate funds. A major function of the Steering Committee is to assist in the many facets of BalletMet performances involving Academy students.

The current Parent Association Board Chair is Doris Ing and the Co-Chair is Kara Tinkler.

How Are Funds Raised?

The Parents’ Association raises funds through merchandise sold at BalletMet performances throughout the season, and at the Academy. The Steering Committee and administration decide on what merchandise is to be sold. The funds generated by merchandise sales go into the Association’s Scholarship Fund.
