Junior and Summer Intensive

BalletMet Dance Academy’s Summer Intensive invites professionally aspiring dancers to a five-week program at our studios in Columbus, Ohio, named one of the top six cities in the country for the arts.  Summer Intensive students 16+ can also choose to add our BalletMet Company Rep Week where they will learn choreography from today’s top choreographers, in a company style format, taught by the ballet masters and artistic director of BalletMet.

Our Studios

Our Columbus, Ohio campus houses the 35,000 sq. ft. Dance Centre with seven studios, costume shop, and offices, along with a 20,000 sq. ft. fully equipped black box theatre and scene shop.  BalletMet’s campus is located in downtown Columbus in the cultural Discovery District,  near Columbus State Community College, Columbus College of Arts and Design, the Columbus Convention Center and Arena District.

How to Join Us this Summer

1. Audition

Auditions will open soon for 2020!

2. Register/Accept

Acceptance letters will be sent out two weeks after auditions. You can accept and register online when registration opens.

3. Enter SI student site

For accepted students who have registered for Junior Intensive, Summer Intensive or Company Rep Week. Check back in the spring for the updated student site!

SI Housing

  • Students are housed at the Schottenstein Residence Hall at Columbus College of Art and Design.
  • All meals are included
  • BalletMet is approximately a ten minute walk from CCAD. Students walk in groups with chaperones and CCAD security escorts from the residence hall to the studios and back. In the event of inclement weather, students are shuttled between locations.
