In Motion: Movement Class for Adults Over 50

A pay-what-you can class offered Mondays and Thursdays at BalletMet.

In Motion, led by instructors Sarah Levitt Ramey and Chloe Napoletano, uses movement and dance to develop strength, coordination, flexibility, and creativity in adults over 50. Each class begins with a seated warm-up, and includes set movement sequences, improvisation, and choreography exercises. Classes are one hour long and are followed by snacks and conversation. In Motion is open to any experience level and physical ability—wheels and walkers welcome!

I look forward to In Motion each week, knowing that my body and mind will get a good workout. I especially enjoy opportunities to create and move in an environment where the BalletMet Company practices.


[The teachers] are constantly encouraging, never critical. If someone cannot do the suggested move/motion, due to pain, etc., our teachers will offer modifications so each person can do what they can--without pain.


Ballet Met’s senior dance class, In Motion, has given me the chance to explore creative movement in a non-threatening, supportive, and collaborative venue.
