Holly Hynes, costume designer

Holly Hynes is an accomplished costume designer credited with more than 100 designs to her credit. Her work has been featured in companies worldwide, including New York City Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, Royal Ballet in London, Hamburg Ballet, La Scala Ballet in Milan, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Pennsylvania Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Ballet Pacifica, Ballet Florida and Joffrey Ballet.

Ms. Hynes also continues her career as a theatrical costume designer, and is credited with designs for Broadway productions of On Borrowed Time, directed by George C. Scott and Getting Married, both at Circle in the Square, as well as several productions Off-Broadway at the York Theater Company.

Jerome Robbins, Peter Martins and The Balanchine Trust have also entrusted her as an authority to teach costume reproductions of various established designs. This has involved many companies in the United States and abroad, including the Kirov Ballet, Theatre du Capitol and Paris Opera Ballet in France; the Bavarian State Ballet in Munich, Germany; Cincinnati Ballet; San Francisco Ballet; and England's Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Ms. Hynes also holds the title of Director of Costumes at the New York City Ballet, where she has been designing and directing costumes for 20 years.
