Christopher McCollum, costume designer

An Austin native, he returned home in 1993 after many years in Germany and Switzerland. He has worked extensively in both America and Europe, primarily as a set designer. Previously he designed the scenery for Ballet Austin's Ulysses. His sets for Houston Grand Opera's Little Women, were seen on PBS' Great Performances 2000 season. His sets for Austin Lyric Opera's productions of Otello and Andrea Chenier were also seen at Minnesota Opera and Arizona Opera. He has designed for most Austin performing groups, including: Austin Musical Theater, Frontera@Hyde Park Theater, and Zachary Scott Theater. He is the recipient of numerous Austin Critic's Table Awards and B. Iden Payne Awards. Other productions include: La Fancuilla del West for Arizona Opera, Carmen for Austin Lyric Opera, and Oklahoma! and Oliver! for Austin Musical Theater. McCollum graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University.
