Carla Risch Chaffin, scenic design

Carla Risch Chaffin received her B.F.A. in Theater and Film from Denison University in 1979. Carla has had a distinguished career as a scenic artist which began at the Asolo State Theater in Sarasota, Florida where she worked with many top name designers in American theater. After returning to her native Ohio in 1987 she became scenic artist for the Columbus Scene Shop, while there overseeing the painting of operas for Atlanta Opera, Baltimore Opera and Opera Columbus as well as many business theater projects. She has worked as head scenic artist for BalletMet since 1990. Her design credits include Beauty and the Beast, Butterfly, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Carmen, Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake and Dangerous Liaisons and additional designs for The Nutcracker for BalletMet as well as numerous business theater projects.
