BalletMet Seeks Communications Manager
BalletMet Columbus, a professional dance company and academy in Columbus, Ohio with a $5.8 million budget, is currently seeking candidates for the full-time position of Communications Manager. This position reports to the Marketing Manager.
The Communications Manager is responsible for leading public relations efforts including maintaining consistent coverage in the press and media, cultivating and building relationships with the local and national press and media, preparing press releases, planning preview events, coordinating appearances for on and off-site events and appearances, and presenting story ideas to the media. The Communications Manager is responsible for writing and editing content for print and electronic marketing and promotional materials including programs, brochures, postcards, e-blasts, website, and social media.
Qualities and Experience:
High energy, creative thinker, team player, possessing outstanding communications skills and strong writing and editing ability. Passion for the arts with experience in the communications field desired. Experience with Wordpress & Adobe products preferred. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required. Degree in journalism or communications preferred.

BalletMet Columbus seeks Academy Director
BalletMet, a professional dance company and academy in Columbus, Ohio, with a $6 million budget, seeks experienced professional to direct its Dance Academy beginning May 2014, pending availability. Applicant should be a self-motivated, visionary and strategic leader who can work effectively in collaboration with others to accomplish the education and business goals of the Academy. Responsibilities include overseeing programs and curriculum, hiring, supervising and providing professional development for faculty, teaching, budgeting, and maintaining good relations with stakeholders. Applicant should have experience in planning, strategizing, managing, monitoring and evaluating Academy programs.
• Experienced professional with background in leading a Dance Academy.
The Marketing and Communications Internship offers an opportunity for students to gain work experience in the field of nonprofit marketing and communications. The internship is flexible and can be tailored to suite the skills and interests of each intern. The intern will work closely with the marketing team by assisting with all aspects of planning and promoting professional company performances, Academy dance classes, and educational outreach programs. Duties will include:
• Assisting with graphic design projects
• Maintaining clip files
• Assisting with special events and promotions including event and volunteer management
• Assisting with general research and data entry
• Assisting with mailings and advertising
• General Organizational Tasks
Unpaid internship with free tickets to BalletMet performances and discounted adult dance classes. Free parking in private lot.
Stipend available for candidates able to complete a year-long internship (Fall-Winter-Spring quarters).
Some weekend and evening hours are available for events, public speaking, and performance activities
Social Media Marketing Intern
The Marketing Department is actively looking for a marketing intern for Fall-Spring and also individual quarters.
Ticket Services Intern
The Ticket Services Intern assists in the daily operations of the ticket office including helping customers, data entry and assisting with reports. An opportunity to develop strong customer service, communication and computer skills. The intern will learn many facets of Ticketmaster ticketing system and Raisers Edge.

Hours: Most weeks will include hours within: Mon. – Fri. 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Other weekend and evening hours are available for on-site performance ticket sales experience.
