Brianna Rhodes

Teaching Artist, Reynoldsburg City Schools Partnership

Brianna Rhodes was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. In 2019, she graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Dance, and soon after college, she performed with the world renowned Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. Now she is a freelance dance artist who has received many opportunities to perform on a local, national, and international scale. Additionally, she is a dance teacher at Dublin Dance Extension, Flux + Flow Community Dance Center, and the Lincoln Theatre Summer Arts Program. She is also a student in the Lincoln Theatre Incubation Program and now the Contemporary and Afrofusion dance teacher at Encore High School in Reynoldsburg. Brianna’s hard work shines not only through her movement but also through her principles. History is important to her so through her craft and teaching she focuses on educating herself and others on the equality of any sex, race, sexuality, and profession through the lens of African & African American history and activism. She also writes poetry and combines it with dance to further her creative voice. Her favorite African Proverb to live by which keeps her moving every day is, “I am because we are, and because we are; therefore I am.”
