Tailored Residencies

The Education Programs listed below are just two examples of BalletMet residencies. Our programs can be tailored for any age, and program content can coincide with current classroom material. Length of residencies vary between 8-10 weeks.

Moving Into Literacy - 2ND GRADE

MIL combines dance and English language arts education to improve literacy. Students study literary works and then create their own stories through visual art, original movement and creative writing.

  • Develops: Literacy, self-confidence, general health, interpersonal skills, creative thinking
  • Target Age: This residency was developed for second grade students but can be adapted for any age group.
  • Past Residencies: Columbus, Worthington, Bexley, Westerville, Reynoldsburg School Districts (Read Testimonials)

The Wiggle Jig - PRE-K PROGRAM

Students meet our characters Leap & Twirl and follow their dance adventures in BalletMet's new book Leap & Twirl ™. Wiggle Jig residencies combine fun & dancing to positively impact early childhood learning.

  • Develops: Neuro-motor skills, socio-emotional behavior, cultural literacy
  • Target Age: This residency was developed for ages 3-5 years but can be adapted for any age.
  • Past Residencies: Head Start Programs in partnership with Columbus Urban League, Columbus Early Learning Centers, Schoenbaum Family Center (Read Testimonials)

WOW! Window on the World - K-5TH GRADE

A multicultural exploration which showcases a variety of dances from different cultures and history with lively narration. Performed by the BalletMet Trainees and students from BalletMet's Dance Academy.

Cost is $400 or $600 for a back-to-back informance.

 

 

*Note: Residencies require a gym, stage or multi-purpose room with a piano and a clean, mopped floor. Teacher supervision and participation required.
