BalletMet 2 Dancer Lauren Kot

Lauren Kot, originally from Howell, MI, fell in love with dancing at age four while under the instruction of Ginny Durow in Brighton, MI. She continued training in Springboro, OH under Laura Baker, Freddie Fourie, and Olivia Fisher before joining BalletMet as a trainee at age 15. She has enhanced her training through The Glenda Brown Choreography Project, the USC Ballet Conservatory, and with scholarships to summer programs at the Orlando Ballet and Kansas City Ballet. Favorite trainee performance roles include Second Violin in George Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco, and Russian Girl in Balanchine’s Serenade. Lauren has enjoyed performing in BalletMet’s company productions of Gerard Charles’ The Nutcracker, Edwaard Liang’s Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, and Dorothy and the Prince of Oz, as well as understudying company roles in George Balanchine’s Serenade and Michael Pink’s Peter Pan. She is very excited to join BalletMet 2 for the 2018/2019 season.
