Megumi Nishimori started ballet in Thailand before relocating to the Philippines. In 2012, she entered the Asian Grand Prix in Hong Kong and received a Silver Medal. This opportunity lead Ballet Manila to invite her to dance Kitri for their production of Don Quixote. In 2013, Nishimori moved to Japan to train at the Acri Horimoto Ballet Academy, where she received many awards, such as second in the All Japan Ballet Competition and third in the All Japan Ballet Union Competition. After two years, Nishimori moved to the States to study at the San Francisco Ballet School on a merit based scholarship, under Patrick Armand. At San Francisco, Nishimori danced with the company in Tomasson’s Swan Lake, Nutcracker, and Balanchine’s Coppélia. After her training at San Francisco, Nishimori joined Cincinnati Ballet’s second company, where she danced in various ballets such as Balanchine’s Serenade and Rubies.
