Karen Wing began her dance training at Petaluma School of Ballet. Ms. Wing continued her education at the University of California-Irvine, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in June 2013 with a BFA in dance performance and a minor in business management. While in college, she worked extensively with Donald McKayle and Jodie Gates and was selected to be a part of Molly Lynch’s National Choreographers Initiative in 2011, 2012 and 2014. Ms. Wing danced for the Sacramento Ballet for one season before joining BalletMet in 2014. Ms. Wing has had the pleasure of working with choreographers such as Edwaard Liang, Ma Cong, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, James Kudelka, Matthew Neenan, Val Caniparoli, and Trey McIntyre. She has also had the privilege of performing in Jerome Robbins’ Fancy Free. In 2015, Ms. Wing was selected to be one of Pointe magazine’s “2015 Stars of the Corps” and in 2016, Pointe recognized her performance in “Carmen.maquia” as one of the standout performances of the year. Ms. Wing is now in her fourth season with BalletMet.
