Sean Rollofson

SEAN ROLLOFSON is from Redmond, WA and began attending Pacific Northwest Ballet School at age seven, then summer courses at the National Ballet School in Toronto and on scholarship at the School of American Ballet.  Mr. Rollofson joined PNB at age eighteen as an apprentice in 2008 and was promoted to corps de ballet in 2009.  During his time with PNB, he originated leading roles in Marco Goecke’s Place a Chill, as well as dancing leading and featured roles in George Balanchine’s Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Symphony in C, Acolyte in Jean-Christophe Maillot’s Roméo et Juliet, the Neapolitan dance in Kent Stowell’s Swan Lake, Puss in Boots in Ronald Hynd’s The Sleeping Beauty, Jiří Kylián’s Sechs Tänze, Kent Stowell’s Nutcracker, and Twyla Tharp’s Waterbaby Bagatelles.  Mr. Rollofson joined City Ballet of San Diego for a season as a principal where he danced leading roles in Balanchine’s La Source, Peter Martin’s Hallelujah Junction, Raymonda Variations, and more.  He joined BalletMet in 2017.  Other accolades include creating leading roles in Elizabeth Wistrich’s Bowed Piano and Geoff Gonzales’s Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, being featured in the Starz mini drama series “Flesh and Bone” as a season regular, collaborating on Find Your Fifth DVD, playing the soloist part of Slave Master in Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, and playing Diesel in Asolo Rep’s Westside Story.  He also guested at The Kennedy Center, dancing Don Quixote Grand Pas de deux and Romeo and Juliet’s Balcony pas de deux, both with former NYCB and Miami City Ballet soloist Kathryn Morgan for “Bloch’s Evening with Kathryn Morgan.”

Mr. Rollofson danced in the BBC’s 1999 film version of PNB’s production of George Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, filmed at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London.
