Get to know Grace-Anne Powers

Grace-Anne Powers was a member of La La La Human Steps as a soloist under director/choreographer Edouard Lock prior to joining Ballet San Jose in 2013. With La La La Human Steps, she performed in New Work which premiered in Amsterdam in 2011 and then toured internationally for the following two years. Ms. Powers has danced for many audiences and on many stages including at the prestigious Kremlin Theatre in Russia.

A native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Ms. Powers began her training at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. At the age of 14 she continued her studies at The Art of Classical Ballet in Pompano Beach, Florida. She has received awards including the Jury Award in Shanghai IBC in China and a Silver Medal at World Ballet Competition in Orlando.

In 2006, Ms. Powers joined the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami, under the direction of Pedro Pablo Pena and Magaly Suarez, and one year later was promoted to Principal Soloist. At Cuban Classical Ballet she performed in Giselle, Swan Lake, La Bayadere, Don Quixote, Carmen, Le Corsaire and other ballets.

Ms. Powers is joining BalletMet’s professional Company for the 2015/16 season.
