8 new dancers, 18 returning dancers make up BalletMet’s 22/23 company

BalletMet’s professional company is welcoming eight new dancers, including the promotion of BalletMet 2 dancer Iris R. Davila, and 18 returning dancers for its 2022/23 season.

The new dancers hail from around the world and include: Erica Alvarado from Tucson, Arizona and previously with Atlanta Ballet; Matoi Kawamoto from Tokyo, Japan and previously a member of the Architanz Training Program in Japan; Miguel Wansing Lorrio from Bergisch Gladbach, Germany; Benat Andueza Molina from Gasteiz, Spain and previously with Texas Ballet Theater; Andrew Rossi from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and previously with the Chautauqua Institution; Cooper Verona from Connecticut and previously with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre; Victoria Watford previously with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.

Miguel Anaya,  TyLeigh Baughman, Jessica Brown, Leiland Charles, Francesca Dugarte, Zachary Guthier, Johnathon Hart, Rie Matsuura, Sophie Miklosovic, Rachael Parini, Austin Powers, Grace-Anne Powers, Sean Tollofson, Alvin Tovstogray, Caitlin Valentine-Ellis, Vincent Van Harris, David Ward, and Karen Wing are all returning company dancers.

BalletMet 2, BalletMet’s second company, will have five new dancers this season, including Jared Brouillette from Boston, MA, Sumi Ichikawa from Columbus OH and a former trainee with BalletMet, Xavier Pugliese-Ciulei from Columbus, OH, also a former trainee, Annie Wilson from Manhattan, and Aleksandra Winkler from Layton, UT.  Sarah-Ashley Chicola and Tristan Toy are returning to BalletMet 2 for a second season.
