Megan Davis Bushway is a dance artist and movement educator based in Columbus, OH. Megan began teaching at BalletMet in 2016, where she specializes in modern dance and composition. She also teaches for Momentum, Wittenberg University, and CoMo. Megan regularly offers Pilates Mat and Reformer classes at the Jewish Community Center, Core Poetry, and Flux and Flow. Megan dances with Sea↔Bus, a cross-country collaboration between dancers in Columbus and Seattle, WA. Her work with Sea↔Bus centers on dance improvisation as a means of performance. She also collaborates on choreographic projects with Athens-based artist Megan Yankee. Past performance credits include works by Susan Rethorst, Melanie Bales, Susan Hadley, Fritha Pengelly, Cynthia Nazzaro, and Paige Phillips. In addition to her work as an educator and performer, Megan also specializes in dance film and documentation. She has been commissioned by local artists to document work and is the videographer for OhioDance.

Megan received an MFA in Dance from The Ohio State University and a BA in Art Therapy and Dance from Springfield College.

I believe in teaching that encourages students to develop curiosity and sensitivity in the way they approach movement, choreography, and performance. Through technical and somatic practices, explorations in composition and improvisation, students are prepared to be collaborators and leaders within their communities.
