Sally Squires

Student Division

Sally Squires began dancing at the age of four, and trained at both New Albany Ballet Company and the BalletMet Dance Academy. After high school, Sally joined BalletMet’s trainee program, where she spent two years refining her training under Academy Director Maria Torija. During her time in the BalletMet Dance Academy and trainee program, she enjoyed performing in ballets such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Edwaard Liang’s Dorothy And The Prince of Oz, and George Balanchine’s Serenade. In 2019, Sally moved to Cleveland to dance with Cleveland Ballet Company, where she performed numerous professional roles in productions that included Gladisa Guadalupe’s Carmen, and The Nutcracker.
Sally is also an accomplished vocalist, and her professional performance experiences include Opera Columbus, Shadowbox Live, and Short North Stage. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Sally decided to step away from professional ballet and pursue a degree in mathematics with a minor in biology. Ballet continues to bring Sally great joy as she teaches the next generation of aspiring dancers at BalletMet. Sally also currently performs with New Vision Dance Company under Artistic Director Melissa Gould.
