Dance Access and Education Programs

There are a variety of opportunities to experience and learn the art of dance through our community access and education programs. Free classes, complimentary tickets and student scholarships are all a part of our continuing commitment to promote the benefits of dance in our community.

Nutcracker leaps into air on the Ohio Theatre stage

KidTix

BalletMet’s KidTix program provides complimentary tickets for BalletMet’s home season performances to underserved youth, marginalized populations and individuals with disabilities who would otherwise not be able to attend.

During its season, BalletMet offers a specific, limited number of free performance tickets to recipients who apply through area non-profit social service agencies, youth service organizations and faith-based groups.

Discover Dance Scholarship Program

BalletMet Dance Academy scholarship program offers students in the Central Ohio area opportunities for quality dance education and training. Scholarships require an audition and are renewed annually based upon review of criteria.

Community participates in BalletMet classes

In Motion

In Motion: Movement Class for Adults Over 50 is a program of dance classes specifically designed for older adults.

All classes can be taken seated in chairs or standing. Accessible to all physical abilities, no dance experience needed. Classes are held at retirement communities and community centers and are tailored to the interests of the participants.

Soar on Saturdays
Soar on Saturdays

Soar on Saturdays is a dance access program created in partnership with The King Arts Complex. It is aimed to give young students the opportunity to explore movement over the course of a free six-week dance class. Four different six-week sessions will be offered throughout the academic year, each featuring a unique style of dance. Classes meet once a week.
