Celebrate National Dance Day and Christmas in July with BalletMet!
Let’s Move, Columbus! will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 25 with a FREE outdoor movement class in the Topiary Park (480 E Town St., Columbus, OH 43215) led by BalletMet Academy Director Timothy Lynch. This event is open to the public and perfect for dancers of all ages and skill levels.
After the outdoor class, BalletMet will hold additional FREE classes in its professional studios (322 Mt. Vernon Ave. Columbus, OH 43215). Classes for ages 7 and up will begin at 12 noon with ballet. Hip hop will follow from 1 – 2 p.m. and jazz will be offered from 2 – 3 p.m. Children ages 3 – 7 can participate in Creative Movement, which will run every hour, on the hour, from noon – 3 p.m.
Other highlights include costume dress up, craft time and behind-the-scenes tours of BalletMet studios and costume shop.
Do we need to RSVP for each family member attending and/or do we need to RSVP or sign-up individual children for particular class times?
Hi Travis — no need to RSVP for everyone individually, or to register children for the free classes. If you could just let us know how many people will be attending with you, that will be perfect. Thanks!
For the outdoor class at the topiary park, where should we park?
Hi Scott – there are a number of parking meters around the perimeter of the Topiary Park that provide plenty of street parking. You are also welcome to park in the lot behind BalletMet and walk over to the Topiary Park, which is less than a mile away. We look forward to seeing you Saturday!
I am trying to make reservations but it keeps telling me the CAPCHA code is not correct. HELP!!!! I’d like to attend and bring 3 children over 7. They would also like to do two of the Ballet Met free classes. How do we register for that? Thanks in advance!!!!

Hi Nancy! We received your RSVP and will make a note about the three children you’re bringing. You don’t need to do anything else to register for the free classes, just come to the event on Saturday with comfortable clothes that you can move in. We also strongly recommend bringing a water bottle. See you Saturday!
