Sophie Miklosovic

SOPHIE MIKLOSOVIC

received her pre-professional classical training under Magaly Suarez, Director of The Art of Classical Ballet School. Originally from Michigan, she developed her performance skills as a competition dancer, studying ballet with master teachers Meg Paul and Valentina Barsukova and contemporary dance with Liz Schmidt-Mazurkiewicz at Spotlight Dance Works.

Sophie has earned recognition at several international ballet competitions, including a Gold Medal at the World Ballet Competition and the Morning Star Foundation Award at the China International Ballet Competition (IBCC). She was also named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” in 2019.

At age 17, Sophie joined BalletMet and has performed an extensive range of classical and contemporary repertoire. Her featured roles include Mimi in La Bohème by Remi Wörtmeyer, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella in Cinderella, and Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker.

Sophie has also performed works by acclaimed choreographers including Edwaard Liang, Christopher Wheeldon, Ulysses Dove, Twyla Tharp, Justin Peck, Jerome Robbins, George Balanchine, and Alexander Ekman. Her versatility, artistry, and extensive classical and contemporary experience have established her as a distinctive performer within BalletMet’s repertoire.
