Aleksandra Winkler

Aleksandra Winkler was born and raised in Layton, Utah. She fell in love with ballet at the age of eight and began her formal training in Ogden, Utah where she danced many roles including the lead in The Secret Garden.  Shortly after, she was offered a scholarship to attend the Ballet West Professional Training Division in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the youngest student to have ever been accepted into the Professional Training Division, at just eleven years old. There, she continued her training as a scholarship student for seven years and was promoted to trainee during her time there. Throughout her seven years at Ballet West, Aleksandra was able to perform works such as George Balanchine’s Divertimento no. 15, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Concerto Barocco, and Walpurgisnacht, along with August Bournonville’s Kermesse en Bruges, Konservatoriet, and Abdallah.

Throughout the years she attended summer programs at Houston Ballet, Ballet West, Oregon Ballet Theatre, and San Francisco Ballet. This is Aleksandra’s first season with BalletMet 2.
