Alexis Workowski

ALEXIS WORKOWSKI joined BalletMet at 17 as a trainee and was promoted to BalletMet 2 the following year. Her performances with BalletMet include Edwaard Liang’s Swan Lake, Dorothy and the Prince of Oz, Tributary and The Nutcracker. Alexis danced the principal role in George Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht and Medora in Le Corsaire as a trainee. Prior to joining BalletMet, Alexis was a company artist with United Ballet Theatre (UBT) in Orlando, FL.

During her time with UBT, Alexis was a guest artist with Space Coast Ballet, Melbourne City Dance Theatre, and Fort Lauderdale Youth Ballet’s Nutcracker as the Sugar Plum Fairy. In 2022, Alexis performed Grand Pas Classique for the Dance Open America Gala and in 2021 she was invited to perform the Paquita Etoile and Black Swan variations during the International Ballet Festival of Miami gala.

At 17, Alexis won the 3rd Prize at the 9th Annual Helsinki International Ballet Competition and is a two-time Gold medal winner at the Miami International Ballet Competition. Other awards include the Grand Prix Award at the Youth America Grand Prix Regional, the Robert Joffrey Legacy Award at the Universal Ballet Competition and the Silver medal at the World Ballet Competition.

Not only does Alexis enjoy dancing ballet, but she has had the opportunity to choreograph for fellow dancers and is a classically trained pianist.
