Nathan Bender

Originally from Bismarck, North Dakota, NATHAN BENDER began his training with Northern Plains Dance. At the age of 17, he joined the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre school. During his training, he performed in numerous classical and contemporary works.

After graduating, Nathan joined The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s Graduate program. As a Graduate student, he was chosen to perform in various company works set by Susan Jaffe, Terrence Orr, Balanchine Repetiteurs, and most recently, Adam McKinney. At PBT, Nathan performed alongside the company in Michael Pink’s DRACULA, George Balanchine’s Diamonds, Susan Jaffe’s original Swan Lake, and George Balanchine’s Theme and Variations– among other classical and contemporary works. Throughout his training, he attended summer intensives at Louisville Ballet, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Nashville Ballet, and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Nathan is very excited to be joining BalletMet 2 for the 2023/24 season!
