Sarah-Ashley Chicola

Sarah-Ashley Chicola was born in New York City. She grew up in Westfield, New Jersey doing competitive gymnastics, piano, horseback riding, and ballet.

Sarah-Ashley started her training with her mother, who is a former professional ballerina. At a young age she began training at American Ballet Theater’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis program, and then attended Manhattan Youth Ballet. She was a scholarship student at MYB and performed lead roles in many ballets. In 2018 she left home to study at Miami City Ballet School on a full scholarship under Arantxa Ochoa, in the Pre-Professional Division 2. During this time she was asked to perform alongside the company in productions such as George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, Alexei Ratmansky’s Swan Lake, George Balanchine’s Firebird, and more. Before graduating from the school in 2021, she performed featured and soloist roles in Miami City Ballet School’s productions.

In 2020, she was awarded a grant from the American Friends of the Paris Opera & Ballet.

Throughout the years she attended summer programs at Pacific Northwest Ballet, Manhattan Youth Ballet, the School of American Ballet, and Miami City Ballet. This is her second season with BalletMet 2.
