More than 10,000 children a year witness the enchantment of BalletMet’s Morning at the Ballet. Join children from around central Ohio for these engaging field trips designed to introduce students to dance and theatre. Reserved for elementary, middle and high school groups, Morning at the Ballet gives students an up-close look at a BalletMet performance in a theatre setting. Open to school groups with students 4½-18 years old.

There is a connection between movement and language. Dance is the language of the body and using the body’s rhythm provides a link to the rhythm of language. Moving into Literacy combines dance, creative storytelling, sequencing and language arts as students read literary works and create their own unique stories using movement and words.

BalletMet 2 dancers will show the art and athleticism of dance with a performance followed by a questions and comment session with the dancers.

The Beginner Yoga curriculum fundamentals focus on warm-ups, asana, breathing and relaxation. In addition, some components of meditation and mindfulness are shared with the students. At this level the focus is on learning body awareness and the skills of relaxation and stress management within a wide range of poses and practices.
