More than 10,000 children a year witness the enchantment of BalletMet’s Morning at the Ballet. Join children from around central Ohio for these engaging field trips designed to introduce students to dance and theatre. Reserved for elementary, middle and high school groups, Morning at the Ballet gives students an up-close look at a BalletMet performance in a theatre setting. Open to school groups with students 4½-18 years old.
Children wiggle, glide, leap and twirl through a residency with highly-skilled teaching artists in a nurturing environment.
There is a connection between movement and language. Dance is the language of the body and using the body’s rhythm provides a link to the rhythm of language. Moving into Literacy combines dance, creative storytelling, sequencing and language arts as students read literary works and create their own unique stories using movement and words.
BalletMet 2 dancers will show the art and athleticism of dance with a performance followed by a questions and comment session with the dancers.
The 45-minute lecture demonstration costs $600.
The fee for this performance is offered at a lower cost due to the generous underwriting of supporters of the BalletMet Education and Community Engagement Programs. If a pre-recorded performance with a live Questions and comment session better meets your needs, please contact us for pricing and details.
